The battle continues

Working out, that's the easy part for me! Now that I'm in a routine it comes natural! I crave it, I need it, I feel awful without it! Can I leave work and just go workout now??

Then comes nutrition, and my battle continues! It's not that I'm doing horribly wrong with my nutrition at all, it's just I KNOW I need to do better! It's the little things that continuously add up! Over the weekend my eating was okay, with the exception of Date Night, but that isn't an every day occurrence! I hate to admit but I haven't even worked on my meal plan, at all (insert hanging head in shame here). My true problem lies in carbs, though I only eat whole grain bread/pasta and whole grain brown rice,but it's seeming to be a big staple in my diet lately! I'm thinking maybe I need a carb detox of sorts! I KNOW all carbs aren't bad, I AM NOT jumping on the Atkins bandwagon by any means!!!! I just thinking I need to create more of a habit of protein and veggies, and my carb count will come from fruit and veggies - Lean & Green if you will! Something I'm strongly considering, might have to make plan!

Maybe a food tracking App would be helpful too. Just to see everything clearly and make changes as needed. Any suggestions on Apps? I know there are a ridiculous amounts of them out there!

Lots to think about, a plan NEEDS to be put into place!!

  1. I've basically cut out "carbs" (bread, rice, etc.) besides my oatmeal for breakfast in the morning. Besides the cravings I get for BAD things, I find I don't miss having a potato/rice/quinoa, etc. with my chicken and veggies. You might find it works quite well for you! Because you're not really cutting out ALL carbs, just the ones that have a tendency to turn into sugar (and fat).

    As for tracking apps, I use the tracking that syncs with my FitBit and Aria scale...but I'm pretty sure you can use it without either of those techie things. It's the FitBit app (just search it on the app store for your iPhone). It should be free, and you also have the option of entering things through the online interface (it all syncs up).

  2. Ahhhh oh my gosh I've been going through the same thing! I mostly eat well, just too much. Constant snacking. Especially at work! I was also thinking the food tracker thing but decided against it. Let me know if it works for you though!
