Update: Goals & Rewards

Hey Beautee’s!

Here' is my first update on my Goals and Rewards Post!

Goal 1 was Two weeks of steady Cardio! Well I am only a week and a half in, I have rocked this goal in the week and a half's time!  Due to some possible additional health issues, I jumped the gun and ordered this bad boy!

WhitePolarFT40

I cannot even express how excited I am to get this and try it out! I have wanted a Heart Rate Monitor for a really long time, and glad I made myself work for it! I will definitely do a review once it arrives and share why I chose this particular model!

Do you use a Heart Rate Monitor? Please share if you do!

Lean,Clean And Green Challenge

Hey Beautee’s!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!! I unfortunately worked all weekend but was lucky enough it was a bit slow so I had some time to work on some of my personal goals! I took a lot of time to break down what exactly I want and how to work towards it.

It Takes 21 Days to Create A Habit

That’s what they say(who is ‘they’ anyway?), 21 Days to create a new habit, and seeing one of my biggest goals is to keep on track with my nutrition I am creating my own personal challenge! The 3 week, 21day, Lean Clean and Green Challenge!!! For the next three week all foods I consume will be clean and healthy! This is to help my constant craving of carbs(Rice,Pasta,Breads, ect) and sugar. Its kind of a detox-cleanse my palette type plan for myself. Also I am going to try and keep my sugar intake under 45grams daily, Added sugar that is, Natural Sugars are A-Ok! After the 21 days I will introduce whole grain back into my diet, but for now I say goodbye.

I have slowly eased into this routine over the last couple days, which included eating Tilapia for the first time(anyone who knows me are aware of my HATE of fish) and didn’t detest it! I am super happy that I found one that I actually can eat. My boyfriend tried really hard to season it a healthy way so I enjoyed the flavour! I am a lucky girl!

I am really excited for this! I truly think having a plan makes all the difference in achieving your goals! I now have my plan in place, and I honestly can’t even contain how excited I am for it! Definitely let me know if your interested in joining, even for just a week or what not!

Have you ever given yourself a personal challenge? Let me know how it went-I would Love to hear your story!

The battle continues

Working out, that's the easy part for me! Now that I'm in a routine it comes natural! I crave it, I need it, I feel awful without it! Can I leave work and just go workout now??

Then comes nutrition, and my battle continues! It's not that I'm doing horribly wrong with my nutrition at all, it's just I KNOW I need to do better! It's the little things that continuously add up! Over the weekend my eating was okay, with the exception of Date Night, but that isn't an every day occurrence! I hate to admit but I haven't even worked on my meal plan, at all (insert hanging head in shame here). My true problem lies in carbs, though I only eat whole grain bread/pasta and whole grain brown rice, but it's seeming to be a big staple in my diet lately! I'm thinking maybe I need a carb detox of sorts! I KNOW all carbs aren't bad, I AM NOT jumping on the Atkins bandwagon by any means!!!! I just thinking I need to create more of a habit of protein and veggies, and my carb count will come from fruit and veggies - Lean & Green if you will! Something I'm strongly considering, might have to make plan!

Maybe a food tracking App would be helpful too. Just to see everything clearly and make changes as needed. Any suggestions on Apps? I know there are a ridiculous amounts of them out there!

Lots to think about, a plan NEEDS to be put into place!!

Nail of the Day(NOD)

Hey Beautees!

Seeing we are still getting to know each other here is another fun fact about me- I'm OBSESSED with nail polish! Drugstore to high end, obsessed! A funny story I remember from 8th grade: During our class introduction we had to tell 10 random facts about ourselves! I remember one of mine being at age 12 owning 78 nail polishes!!! Most of them then were Wet N' Wild, but after that all through high school I was the "polish girl" and classmates always noticed my nails!!

So today I thought I would share my first NOD-Nail of the Day for those boy up on the beauty lingo ;) I got you! This is actually one of my favorite colors even being a drug store brand! The color is Gorgeous and so vibrant!!

Goals and Rewards

For me, goal setting is easy! I know relatively well what I want to achieve myself and how to make it happen, as of lately I have been struggling to follow through...which makes achieving these goals difficult!

My struggle is nothing more than an inner battle I face with myself  (I touched on this in my last post Check it out here) and I'm  thinking I need a little more to to push myself - Enter Rewards!

Here is a fun fact- I like Stuff! All kinda of stuff! Clothes,Books, Makeup, Shoes, House Decor, Pens even, I just like stuff. So I'm putting this together to reward myself and make myself work for the things that I really want!! I know this is not a new concept by any means, I'm just really thinking it might work for me and give me that extra little push!

So what are some of the Rewards I've come up with? Well here is my list of a few things I was in the market for that I am gonna make simple goals to work to get them- to get me started!

2 Weeks of Steady Cardio - Polar Heart Rate Monitor : I was already going to buy this, I've wanted one for quite a while actually. If I stick to this easy goal I will be getting it. I'm currently torn between the FT 4 and the FT40 if anyone has any tips or suggestions between the two! I should also mention I'm not strictly doing cardio in this time, lifting is easy for me so the cardio is in addition to that!

4 weeks of following my nutrition plan with 1 cheat a week, not a full meal, just 1 cheat item! For this I am going to reward myself with a nail polish haul. There are quite a few I have my eye on and I think its time I do a bit of a haul! 4 weeks of eating right and this will be happening!

Currently I'm working on my bigger list of big rewards- Stay Tuned!

Comfort Zone

There is no denying I have struggled with my nutrition, I can say it is definitely what holds me back the most! I know that weight loss is 70% what you eat, and I know exactly what I am suppose to be eating,I honestly know everything I need to do to get to where I want to be…so why am I not?

Truth be told, I’m stuck in my comfort zone, and though getting my body back is the thing I want most, it really REALLY is hard for me to start! The real me is trapped in this body, with my comfort/protection layer covering me(which in reality is the weight I’ve put on since I moved). It shields me from putting myself out there -I am too self conscious to join groups,classes,ect- I feel like I can hide in a crowd-no one notices the chubby girl when there are stick thin beauties around- and I think what I’m scared of most is truly being happy! Yet that is what I want most!

I have known that I really need to motivate myself, so I have done A LOT of reading! Fitness & Nutrition books are all I have really read in the last 6 months. I am ready for this, I am ashamed of constantly failing, I'm embarrassed by my lack of self motivation, I am ready to prove myself wrong and everyone who doubts me wrong!

Stay tuned! Xoxo

September Goals

Hey Beautee's!

Well it is that time again, GOAL TIME! Yes I realize most of my August posts(the whole 3) were goal related, but its something I'm getting in the habit of creating so here we go!

1)Cardio,Cardio,Cardio - This was part of my August goals list but I didn't quite reach it to the full potential so I'm carrying it forward to this month and MAKING IT HAPPEN!! This is a huge factor in my fitness goals that I need to focus on, I know doing so will only help me achieve the results I REALLY want. September is the month to get into my cardio groove!

2)Meal Plan -This is the other factor I know I really need to focus on to get to where I want to be results wise, it's just really been something that I haven't committed to (it's hard for me to admit that). I think the hardest part of this for me is my boyfriend does most of the cooking, so I only have a bit of control in what is prepared most of the time, though I can control what I do eat. I guess I just haven't fully said no to what I shouldn't be eating! This month I want to take control over what I eat! I am working this long weekend, so I'm going to take advantage of the downtime and set a plan!

3)Blog- Yes I said it, Blog! I really do love having my little space in the internet world to share my thoughts and such. Though I have not spent much time with this blog, I was a former beauty blogger (Blog deleted due to creepy ex bf stealing pictures....I REALLY hope we've passed that point now lol). August was crazy busy, and I was away for a good portion of it, this month expect to hear a lot more from me!

4)Budget-I need to stop my careless spending. This has been a huge influence now that my BF just bought a brand spank'en new Jeep Wrangler Sahara, my 2000 Cavalier just doesn't quite measure up now lol.  The old girl has been great to me, but I want to upgrade. Yes I have started my saving for it, but I realized I can do more than the auto saving off my paychecks. I need to really identify my needs to wants!!! I have a lot of wants! lol

5)Instagram Photo Challenge-Yes this is mostly just for fun, I want to try and stick to one of the Photo-A-Day challenges on Instagram! Simple, easy, but sometimes forgotten in our day to day routine! This month I'm gonna try and remember every day! If you want to follow along on my attempt with this check me out on Instagram as Tahneemarie_
